Courtney wanted to tell him that he never had to doubt it, that she loved him fiercely or that she craved the sweet pain that only he could give her. That she could look into the darkness and be comfortable there with him. That she would always crave more and that maybe, just maybe, she could still surprise him with just how deep her darkness ran.
But emotion clogged her throat as he revealed the ring to her and she was pretty sure he could understand just this once why she was getting a little misty eyed.
Sliding her arms around his shoulders, she pressed close again as she leaned in to kiss him softly, sweetly, before pulling back slightly to whisper against his mouth. "Of course I'll marry you." Then she couldn't resist. "You big jerk." She flashed him a fond smirk before kissing him again.
